Manifesto
Money is not everything
We want to know in witch pockets our money
as yours finally ends
Dressing cool doesn’t necessary means that
we have f**k-up the world for this
It’s not a politically correctness or some green washing thing
We DO leave and believe it is the way it should be
believe it or not!

Our Ethics
Here we want to speak about our standards and policy concerning our collections . We are here talking about the three main industrial concerns of the XXI century that we are determinate to make right.
First of all, our social responsibilities towards the people who work directly and indirectly with us.
Secondly, the quality of our clothing and the reasons why they are organic.
Last but not least, we want to let you know about the effort we put to reduce at its minimum our carbon footprint.
Social responsibilities :
All the garment who has our green label comes from a firm who has adopted a Zero Tolerance policy with regard to the following minimum social responsibility criteria. I.e: No sweatshop admitted.
• No use of child labour
• No use of forced labour
• Safe and healthy working conditions
• Legal labour contracts
• Payment of living wage
• Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining
• No discrimination against employees
• No excessive hours of work
As a guarantee of the appliances of the conditions we are claiming, a non-profit NGO ”the Fair Wear Foundation” audits regularly our garment supplier factories.
Organic products :
We try as much as possible to offer you the possibility to buy organic products, if not organic they are fair trade products and we take care that in that case these products are not using some well know polluting industrial process ( there is no chance that you will buy a plastic bag or such an ecological nonsense on HIP ISLAND)
Our organic products : our supplier support farmers in the process of changing their activities to a fully organic agriculture and we only buy their organic crops. Our garment provider is licensed by the Soil Association and the Control Union, to supply fully certified organic products in accordance with the Global Organic Textile Standard.
Carbon foot-printing :
When we picked a provider for our garments and printing services, we made sure they were responsible regarding all the impacts on the workforce, local economy, environment and climate change. Here comes the result in number : A tee from Hip Island produces 90% less CO2 than a manufactured similar product with conventional energy sources. The 90% reduction has been achieved by a combination of low-impact organic farming, efficiency in manufacturing and transportation, and the use of renewable energy instead of the fossil fuel based grid electricity. The carbon footprint has been calculated in accordance with BSI PAS2050 methodology, and certified by the Carbon Trust.
If you would like to know more about our apparels or printing processes, we are more than happy to listen to you.
